Have added a few snaps to the "Wristband Around the World" gallery. This has to be my favourite, a slumbering Shoutster, brim full of fine Berlin ale.
Still in the German capitol, and small hole in a short stretch of the old Berlin Wall, presents a top photo op.
Across the pond now, and a confused wristband can be seen atop the Vince Lombardi Trophy, that is handed out to the annual Super bowl winning team. Wrong sport little fella!
Who else but King Clown Jonesey, could muster a smile out of a Horse Guardsman? Taken outside the Beach volleyball Court at London 2012 Olympics.

Wrist Band Around the World
You may have noticed that there are a few W'band shots in my recent posts. As usual, I have now uploaded them all to official gallery in the top left hand corner. Feel free to peruse at your leisure, as my self, Elster and the the Band on it's own are modelled against a back drop of famous, and not so famous landmarks,

For those of you who are idiots, this is one in front of the Mannekin Pis (Pissing Boy) statue in Brussels. No I do not know why there is also a lesbian in the picture either.
Dunkrik beach. Note the extremely cool trainers.
Outside the Cloth Hall in Ypres. I have even corralled the Elster into this nonsense.
Hitching a ride in Bastogne, Belgium, at McAuliffe Square.
Set against the Hotel de Ville belfry, in Arras, northern France.
The shots in earlier posts are with a beer in the Grand Place, Brussels, and in a shopping mall bar on the outskirts of Wiltz, in Luxembourg, along with a receipt for a beer that cost only €2.80, which is almost unheard of in Western Europe. If the link at the top of the site doesn't work, click here.

Ode to Der Wristband

I wandered lonely as a Lowen
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the TSV,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
1860 saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
Apologies to poetry fans for defacing Wordworths famous ode to the Lake District. This picture is of Der Wristband overlooking the vista of Lake Windermere.

1860 Around the World

Have been meaning to get round to this post for ages, as both myself and Sprocket have continued to spread the 1860 word around the globe. I will add them to the on-line gallery, that can be accessed in the top left hand corner, but have decided to add a few on here. Above we can see Der Mighty Lowen on the pull in Columbus zoo, as he tries to some lazy tart too fetch his tea. But seeing as it was a zoo, and she was in a cage, a chunk of raw antelope never materialised.
Can you see it yet? The W-band plays hide and seek in the Beer Cave in Tiffin, Ohio. Strange things are afoot down the Circle K, to paraphrase a famous-ish movie. Things were chilly in the walk in fridge.
In this shot, Castlefords favourite 1860 fan has the Greek port of Thessaloniki as his back drop. This port town is Greece's second largest city, and quite frankly, judging by this snap looks a bit of a dump. And I know dumps, having to cross Bradford City centre on numerous occasions.
Sticking with an aquatic theme, this is a shot that should have been posted a while back, as the W-band catches some rays by the banks of the Rhine, during our Volcano interrupted jaunt to Dusseldorf. For some reason, this is the only photo during this sojourn. May have something to do with the vast amount of ale consumed.

Has the law finally won? Is this the end of Euro? Is my arse to become the property of a psychotic criminal with a foot longer? Thankfully none of the above. No this is me in the cell used for the film Shawshank Redemption. It was was filmed at the old Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield. A most spooky place.

We have here two for the price of one, both taken on Sprockets recent Summer holiday. He killed two birds with one stone, catching the ferry from Fuerteventura, pictured in the bottom frame, to Playa Blanca on Lanzarote, in the frame on top. This about sums him up, as he was too tight to fly back for a separate jaunt to capture a different picture. Ten out of ten, though, for remembering to pack it in the first place.

Finally, what better way to wrap up a post documenting the actions of a couple of clowns, than with the most famous one in the world, good ol' Ronald McDonald himself. Who would have thought the Red headed jester would have heart that's blau? This statue (can you use that description for something made out of plastic?) guards the food court at Schipol Airport near Amsterdam.
We should have more to post, but Geevers forgot to pack his when he went for a break on the Yorkshire coast, and Shouty has lost his. Again. If anybody is passing through Bavaria and spies one for sale, can they please purchase one for the Right Honourable, who will gladly put it through expenses. I am off to the Lake District this weekend and will hopefully get some scenic snaps, and we are still hoping to get to the Brussels Beer festival in September. Of course you don't need to travel anywhere to join in the gospel, as anything stupid, daft or weird will be considered for publishing.

First Class Wristband
Well business class to be precise. The boy Sprocket, not content to rest on his laurels, continues to set a high benchmark for the "1860 Wristband Around the World" thread. His time in Karachi at an end, it was home time, and too transport our leg-end home, there was no expense spared as his company splashed out on business class. Now whether it was a genuine attempt to best his efforts, or the numerous cocktails he found he could have for nowt, his fertile imagination went into over drive. Altitude, booze or boredom? Who can tell, just enjoy his latest offerings, and see if you can think of a way to better this outstanding contribution to Tom Foolery. His firm has an offer
in for work in South Africa, which is not so exotic, but they have also tendered to do some work in Libya, which sounds far more dangerous, and wristband worthy. Shouty also has an interesting addition, but has so far been too bone idle to upload it. There's a shock. Still at least he remembered, unlike Crespo who has travelled to both Portugal and Turkey, but forgot to take the most essential item of clothing in his wardrobe. He has promised not to make such a school boy error in future. All I know, is that the gauntlet has truly been thrown down by the Castleford Kid. As usual, the full catalogue of sightings can be viewed by clicking on the slide show in the top left corner. I have also located the pictures on a map, that can be clicked once in the gallery, to see how far and wide we have spread the TSV gospel. Enjoy.

Sprockets Heroic Wristband Effort

As regular readers of this blog know, I often have idiotic ideas One of them is getting everybody who has an 1860 wristband, to have their photograph taken, wearing said clothing item, in famous, historic, unusual or foreign locations. If you click on the slide show in the top corner of my blog, it will take you to the online gallery I have set up for this spectacular waste of time. So far there have been some good one's, taken around Europe, and even New Zealand. But a certain member has gone above and beyond the call of duty.
Step forward Sprocket, who has braved one of the most dangerous countries on the planet, to add his contribution to spreading Der Lowen name across the globe. He has taken quite a few pics, but I have chosen these three, that were taken on his jaunt to Karachi, in the country of Pakistan. I picked the beach one, because it looks quite artistic. I picked the one of our hero with the armed guards, because I know that is his favourite. And I picked the last one because he looks like a proper Gaylord. Jonesy, you are a true legend.Whilst we are on the subject of the Mighty lions, good news, as they broke their three game winless streak, by beating MSV Duisberg 3:1, in front of just under 20,000 at the Allianz. Big bad Benny Lauth was on the score sheet for the first time in a while, as 1860 eased away from the relegation zone. Next up is bottom of the league FSV Frankfurt 1899, so hopes are high for another win. One thing that is annoying though is the advert currently playing on ESPN. In it they sweep through some of the most famous stadiums in Europe. Whilst they do this they name the teams that play there. For instance, when they show the San Siro, a caption comes up saying "Home of Inter and AC Milan." But when it gets to the Allianz, they only mention the evil shandy drinkers Bayern! What makes it even harder to bear, is that they show it illuminated in 1860 blue! The cheek....

New Feature
You may have noticed to your left, there is a new gadget that I have added. It is a the slide show I uploaded a few days ago. I know it is a bit on the small side, but at the moment it is the only way I can get it to fit, and seeing as it has just now passed midnight, I will try and improve it another time. Anyway I aim to update it as and when anyone sends me a picture of themselves sporting a TSV 1860 wristband outside a famous, or in some cases not so famous, location. If you can get a celebrity shot either wearing it yourself, or even better getting somebody famous to wear it. I will also upload it. It doesn't matter how d-list said celeb is, in fact, the worse the better. Think Peter Andre or Gareth Gates. I will do a short post whenever there is an update. If you do not own an 1860 wristband, and are planning a jaunt to some place or another let me know, I have one that I can loan you. You may think it a waste of time. or even a bit on the sad side, but bollox to you, I don't care, as it keeps me out of mischief. Thanks to my good friend down in New Zealand, Shaggy Marcus for the most recent additions. To view all photos. add comments and what not, just click on one off the pictures and it will take you to the online album.

Wristband Around the World
Right, this may be a total cock up, as this is the first time I have attempted to upload a slide show. I was at work, day dreaming as per usual, when I got an idea for the blog. What if I uploaded a series of photos showing various friends and members of the Bender Squad, proudly sporting their TSV 1860 Munchen wristbands next to famous, infamous and the downright obscure landmarks of the world? Suitably intrigued i set out to make this fancy a reality. I have trawled through my photos to gauge the viability of my mission. There are a few, but they do seem to feature an awful lot taken in Munich. I have worn my Band with honour throughout out the world, but because I have only just had this flash of inspiration, I did not bother getting a snap of myself wearing it in such worthy places as Chicago, Salzburg, Graceland, Edinburgh, Moencengladbach and Rochdale. Gives me a reason to return I suppose. Anyway, like I said at the beginning of this post, this is a first attempt, so here goes.....
By Jove it works!! I am not quite sure how, but what the devil, success! If you want to see the captions or adjust the speed they go at, run the arrow over the bottom of the picture, and it should bring up a small menu. If you wish to see the pictures separately at your own pace, just click on the slide show and it should take you to an online album. The next minefield to cross is when I wish to upload a new entry. I guess it will keep me out of mischief...
Apologies for the spelling on some of the slides, but if you think I am going through the whole rigmarole of sorting that out, think again.
